Giftyz is a social gifting app designed to solve the common dilemma of choosing the perfect gift for special occasions. The platform allows users to create wishlists for birthdays, engagements, weddings, and other celebrations, then invite friends and family to contribute equal shares toward purchasing desired items.

Users can add up to seven wishlists per occasion, share product links from Amazon.sa, and invite their followers to participate. The app automatically divides costs equally among contributors, making it easy for groups to pool contributions toward meaningful gifts the recipient actually wants.

Client Requirements

Our client from Saudi Arabia approached us with a vision to create a social gifting platform for the Saudi market. The client identified a common problem where friends and family struggle to choose perfect gifts for special occasions and saw an opportunity to enable group contributions toward meaningful gifts through a mobile platform.

The client needed an iOS application with OTP-based authentication, a smart follower system filtering close contacts, and Amazon.sa integration for automatic product detail fetching. The solution required HyperPay payment gateway integration with wallet functionality and intelligent contribution brackets based on product prices.

Key features included GPS-based location selection, a 30-day contribution period with a 7-day grace period management, push notifications for invitations and updates, and an admin panel to monitor occasions and manage gift card distribution.

• HyperPay: Processes secure payments and manages wallet functionality for contributions and refunds.
• MSEGat: Handles SMS services for OTP verification and invitation notifications with reliable delivery in the Saudi Arabian market.
• Google Places API: Powers GPS-based location selection for accurate delivery address specification.
• Apple Sign-In: Enables quick authentication for iOS users preferring streamlined registration.

The platform includes a wallet feature where refunds from unsuccessful contributions are credited for future use. Contributors can use their wallet balance, Credit/Debit Card, Apple Pay, or combine both methods when contributing to future occasions through HyperPay integration. This app helps recipients receive desired gifts while enabling friends and family to collectively afford higher-value items they couldn’t purchase individually.
