Material: On-Demand Drinks Delivery App

Material lets people across Riyadh order packaged drinking water, soft drinks, and coffee for same-day or scheduled delivery. Our client ran an established beverage delivery business and wanted to move it online. Space-O Technologies built the on-demand delivery app for iOS and Android, backed by a Laravel admin panel and a dedicated driver app. The client set one unusual requirement, which was that every product on the home screen had to load with images inside two seconds. Our developers built a custom caching algorithm from scratch to hit it.

About the Material drinks delivery app

About the Material Delivery App

Material is a beverage delivery app serving Riyadh. Users browse packaged drinking water, soft drinks, and coffee, then order for same-day delivery or schedule it for a time that suits them. The app runs in English and Arabic, switching instantly between the two.

The scheduling feature does more than defer a single order. Users set a recurring supply on a daily, weekly, or monthly cycle, so households restocking the same water or soft drinks stop placing the same order repeatedly.

Behind the customer app sit two more products. Drivers work from their own app with a weekly delivery schedule and a dashboard covering assigned orders. Administrators manage the catalog, stock, drivers, promotions, orders, and finances from a web panel.

How We Built the Drinks Delivery App

Our client found Space-O Technologies while researching native app development companies and approached us after reviewing our portfolio. Since we had built comparable delivery products, the requirement was clear from the first conversation.

Two-Second Product Load Through Custom Caching

Requirement:

The client wanted every product on the home screen, including images and full details, to load within two seconds. Leading e-commerce apps were not achieving this.

Solution:

Our developers researched the problem and built an algorithm from scratch using a cache-loading method. Product content is cached on both the server and the client. Details sit ready in prepared containers, so when the app requests data the server returns it immediately rather than assembling a response. Loading feels instant because the work happens before the user asks.

Product Catalog, Categories, and Search

Requirement:

Users needed to reach a specific drink quickly, whether they knew exactly what they wanted or were browsing a category.

Solution:

The home screen lists available beverages, with category-based listings for users narrowing by type. Search finds a specific product by name for anyone who already knows what they are after. Both paths matter, since a household restocking water behaves differently from someone browsing for something new.

Real-Time Location and Delivery Addressing

Requirement:

Delivery addresses in written form create problems for drivers, particularly in areas where street addressing is inconsistent.

Solution:

We integrated Google Maps so users set their delivery location before ordering. The address is captured as a real map position rather than typed text. Drivers receive a precise destination, which removes the phone calls and delays that come from a driver unable to find a customer.

Scheduled and Recurring Orders

Requirement:

Beverage purchasing is repetitive by nature. Customers reorder the same drinking water and soft drinks on a predictable cycle.

Solution:

Users schedule orders for a chosen time or set a recurring supply on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis. A household orders its monthly water supply once and stops thinking about it. For the client, recurring orders convert one-time buyers into predictable repeat revenue.

Wallet, Payments, and Promotions

Requirement:

Entering card details at every checkout adds friction to a product people buy frequently.

Solution:

We integrated PayTabs for payment processing and built an in-app wallet users top up from credit or debit cards. Ordering then draws from the wallet balance without a card entry step. A dedicated offers screen lists discounted beverages, which users order or schedule directly from there.

Driver App and Administrative Control

Requirement:

Running deliveries needed a working tool for drivers and full operational oversight for the client’s team.

Solution:

Drivers get their own app carrying a weekly delivery schedule and a dashboard of assigned orders, available in English and Arabic. The Laravel admin panel handles categories, products, stock, promo codes, drivers, sub-admin accounts, orders, announcements, and finances. The client runs the entire operation from one place.
