MenuSnap is an AI food photo editor that turns a phone snapshot into a listing-ready menu image. Restaurant owners, cloud kitchens, and food bloggers use it to remove cluttered backgrounds, generate new ones, and resize photos for every platform they sell on. The backdrop feature runs on text prompts rather than preset templates. A user types the scene they want, a burger on a marble countertop or sushi on a tropical beach, and the AI generates it behind the dish. One-click resizing then formats each image against the specifications of eight delivery platforms: Grubhub, Uber Eats, ChowNow, Postmates, Clover, Square, Toast, and DoorDash. Users batch 5 images across all eight in a single run, producing 40 export-ready files.

How We Built an AI-Powered Food Photo Editor

Scott Leotti, CEO of Creative Eats Media, has supported over 12,000 restaurants with creative marketing. He identified three recurring failures in restaurant menu photography: poor image quality, slow manual editing, and frequent rejections on platforms like Uber Eats, DoorDash, and Square. Scott partnered with Space-O Technologies to build a mobile app that solves all three in one pass.

AI Image Enhancement Engine

Requirement:

Restaurant staff shoot menu photos on phones in inconsistent kitchen lighting, producing images that look flat and unappetizing on delivery listings.

Solution:

Our team integrated the AI-ML Kit to analyze each photo and adjust lighting, focus, and color automatically. The engine reads the composition of the dish and corrects exposure and color balance without manual input. Users get a usable result on the first tap, then refine further with the manual controls if needed.

Background Removal and Shadow Rendering

Requirement:

Cluttered kitchen backgrounds pull attention away from the dish, and most delivery platforms enforce clean or neutral backdrops.

Solution:

Using PhotoRoom and Picsart integrations, our development team built a background remover that isolates the dish and swaps in custom backdrops. A shadow rendering layer then adds realistic depth beneath the plate. Without it, cut-out images look pasted and artificial on a menu grid.

Generative AI Backdrop Engine

Requirement:

Solution:

Batch Processing and Platform Formatting Engine

Requirement:

Solution:

Our engineering team developed a batch engine that processes 5 images against 8 delivery platform profiles in a single run, producing 40 export-ready files. Each output is sized and compressed to the target platform’s specification. A GPS locator applies region-specific rules, since delivery app requirements vary by market.

Direct Platform Integration and Smart Guide

Requirement:

Solution:

Our team built direct integrations that push finished photos to Uber Eats, DoorDash, and Square from inside the app. A smart guide validates dimensions, resolution, and background compliance before submission.
