Inspections were previously manual, paper-based, and spread across several stages. Space-O Technologies built a web platform where buyers order an inspection, choose a plan, and receive a detailed report. The platform runs on PHP, Yii, MySQL, and AWS. Trained specialists check 49 to 80 items per vehicle, depending on the plan.

About WheelScanner
WheelScanner is a web-based vehicle inspection system that lets used vehicle buyers order inspections for cars, trucks, and motorcycles. Buyers visit the website, choose a plan, and receive a detailed, unbiased report before purchasing.
Before WheelScanner, the entire inspection process was manual and paper-based, with multiple stages for a single inspection. The process consumed significant time for customers and the business owner. The owner wanted the whole journey online, without paper-based work.
Space-O Technologies built WheelScanner around three roles: admins, users, and professional inspectors. Users choose from three plans: Standard Inspection, Premium Inspection, and Motorbike Inspection. Detailed reports cover every checked item and any damage, helping buyers negotiate with confidence.
How We Built WheelScanner’s Vehicle Inspection System
The client partnered with Space-O Technologies to replace paper-based vehicle inspections with a connected online platform.
Online Inspection Ordering
Requirement:
Buyers had to visit an inspection agency to arrange an inspection, which consumed time.
Solution:
We built an ordering flow where buyers enter the vehicle year, make, model, VIN, color, and extra details. They then choose one of three report plans, upload vehicle images, and add the owner’s contact information.
Plan-Based Subscription Management
Requirement:
The business needed personalized rates for different vehicle types and inspection depths.
Solution:
We built a subscription module with Standard Inspection, Premium Inspection, and Motorbike Inspection plans. Admins add new plans and edit the pricing, description, and coverage of existing ones.
Customizable Inspection Checklist
Requirement:
Inspections needed a standard checklist that the business could update as its quality requirements changed.
Solution:
We built a checklist editor where admins add, remove, and edit points under vehicle information, interior, tires and wheels, test drive, and vehicle body. Updated checklists raise the quality of every inspection report.
Digital Reports and Task Management
Requirement:
Without cloud-based report syncing, field specialists sent paper documents to the office, which delayed the inspection journey.
Solution:
We built task and team management where admins assign tasks, set deadlines and priorities, share documents, and track progress. Inspection data now lives online instead of on paper, which reduces paperwork and human errors.
Inspector Dashboard and Earnings Tracking
Requirement:
Inspectors needed a clear view of new orders, pending work, and income.
Solution:
We built an inspector dashboard that lists new daily orders, total inspections done, pending inspections, and ongoing ones. An earnings view shows weekly, monthly, and yearly totals, sortable by the plan customers chose.
Payments, Transaction History, and Reviews
Requirement:
Buyers needed flexible payment options and a record of past orders, while inspectors needed feedback on their work.
Solution:
We built payments by card and PayPal, with a transaction history of previous orders. Inspectors see reviews and ratings on every completed inspection, which helps them improve report quality.
