About Interstride
Interstride is a job search platform built to support international students through one of the most complex parts of studying abroad: finding a job and navigating immigration requirements in a foreign country. The platform gives students authentic job listings, visa sponsorship data, and direct access to university-specific resources in one place.
Before this platform, students had no centralized way to determine which industries fit their goals, track H-1 B sponsoring employers, or connect with alumni from their own university. Space-O Technologies built Interstride around these exact gaps, pairing job listings with career-planning tools and a built-in student community.
Interstride now partners with more than 130 universities worldwide, giving students at those institutions direct access to jobs, webinars, and mentorship opportunities tailored to their international status, with more than 80,000 active users relying on the platform today.
How We Built Interstride’s Job Search Platform
The client partnered with Space-O Technologies to build a platform capable of guiding international students through job searching, visa sponsorship research, and community building, all challenges generic job boards weren’t built to solve.
Centralized Student Record Management
Requirement:
The client needed a way to manage growing student registrations across dozens of partner universities without losing track of individual records.
Solution:
We built a student management system where admins add, edit, and search student records from a single panel. Every student’s information stays centrally organized, removing the need to switch between tools to access a single profile.
Career Planning and Job Discovery Tools
Requirement:
International students struggled to determine which industry or job path suited them without dedicated guidance.
Solution:
We built a career planning tool that runs students through a structured questionnaire and analyzes their answers to suggest a suitable career path. This pairs directly with a jobs management system listing openings by title, description, and location, giving students both direction and immediate opportunities.
University and College Partnership Management
Requirement:
Students only qualify for certain jobs and visa sponsorships through their college or university, but the client had no way to manage those institutional relationships at scale.
Solution:
We built a college management system where admins add new university partners and control exactly what each institution’s students can access, from registration rights to resource visibility. This let the platform scale to 130+ university partners without manual, one-off setup per school.
Live Webinars and Mentorship Access
Requirement:
International students had no easy way to build a professional network or connect with alumni from their own university.
Solution:
We built a live webinar system supporting high-resolution video, participant management, and built-in chat, letting universities run mentorship sessions and networking events directly on the platform. This gave students structured access to alumni and peer connections they previously had no path to.
Home Feed and Community Timeline
Requirement:
Students had no shared space to post updates, ask questions, or stay current on opportunities relevant to their specific university community.
Solution:
We built a home feed where students and admins post updates, and students can like, comment, share, and bookmark content relevant to them. This created an ongoing community layer on top of the job search functionality, not just a static job board.
Interview Tracking and Notification System
Requirement:
Students had no way to track upcoming interviews or stay updated on new resources, visa insights, and job opportunities as they were published.
Solution:
We built an interview tracker where students log contact details, timing, and history for every interview, paired with a notification system alerting them to new resources, videos, and visa updates as they go live. This closed the loop between finding an opportunity and staying on top of it.
