About OnStaege

OnStaege is Nigeria’s first virtual event participation platform designed specifically for the Nigerian entertainment and social events market. The application revolutionizes event experiences by allowing users to participate in live events remotely while maintaining active engagement with attendees, entertainers, and event organizers.

The platform addresses a unique cultural need in Nigeria, where event participation goes beyond mere attendance; it’s about showing appreciation, requesting songs, connecting with DJs, and celebrating moments through “spraying” (tipping). OnStaege digitizes these traditional practices, making them accessible to anyone with a Nigerian phone number, regardless of their physical location.

Client Requirements

Our client is a tech enthusiast from Nigeria who approached Space-O Technologies to create the country’s first virtual event participation platform. He wanted a digital space where Nigerians could participate in live events remotely while incorporating the traditional cultural practice of “spraying” cash into a digital tipping system.

The solution required real-time video streaming with GPS validation, ensuring that only users within 200 meters of the venue could post event highlights. It also required Nigerian phone number verification, Paystack integration for Naira transactions, digital wallet functionality, TikTok-style content feeds, and a comprehensive admin panel.

Solution We Developed

Space-O Technologies built OnStaege from the ground up using cutting-edge cloud technologies to deliver Nigeria’s first virtual event participation platform. The biggest technical challenge involved managing high-quality video content. We developed an optimized compression and chunked upload system that reduces file sizes, improves upload efficiency, and enables instant access to content without buffering.

Flutter 3.8.1+ powers the cross-platform app development for iOS and Android, ensuring a consistent user experience.
Node.js with Express handles the robust backend infrastructure, managing real-time event data and user authentication.
PostgreSQL database stores event information, user profiles, and transaction records across the platform.

Additionally, we implemented GPS-based validation, ensuring users can only post highlights when within 150-200 meters of event venues, preventing spam while maintaining content authenticity. The platform successfully launched on both iOS and Android app stores and is currently being tested at live events across Nigeria.
