About Juvi- Youtube Kids App

Juvi is the best video app for kids as the content is closely monitored to remove any inappropriate content for the kids. We partnered with Youtube for the videos as that viewers have a lot of options to choose from.Juvi has two components- the User App and Admin Panel. Parents and kids use the user app while our client controls the admin panel. The app is a YouTube kids app with subscription charges. Parents need to log in and add their kid’s details like name and age. The videos are segregated on the basis of the kid’s age category and viewing preferences so the parents do not need to worry about exposing the kids to unsuitable content.

The client from Turkey wanted a small yet effective solution for the parents to be carefree when the kids are using video apps for kids. He wanted a video surveillance service for kids in a social media app. He required an app that filtered content as well as had a time-tracker for the kids to control their content consumption.

User App

The parents need to sign up using their email addresses. They receive an OTP to verify their email ID and then get an option to set up a parental pin for keeping the data secure from kids. This pin needs to be entered every time someone accesses settings.

Create a Profile

Just like other YouTube Kids Apps, the parents need to create their kid’s profile with data like name, profile picture, gender, and birth date of the child. Then the parents select any of the 6 available languages viz. Turkish, Italian, English, Spanish, French, and Dutch.

Video Categories

There are various video clips under different categories available for the kids. Age-appropriate categories like Adventure, Circus, Music, Dinosaur, Vegetables are on the category screen. The videos also specify genres like educational or fun.

Add Favorites

Kids and parents have an option to save any number of videos that they like to their Favourites section. The kids can easily find and watch their favorite videos any time they want to. If there are multiple kids profiles, the favorites are separate for all.

There is an option for the kids as well as parents to search for videos on this YouTube Kids app. The parents can easily just type the name of the videos or a part of it and they will get suggestions based on it. It is very easy to search and play any video with this.

Settings

Only the parent can access the settings after entering the security pin. The parent can add and manage multiple kid profiles with details like age, languages, gender, and profile images. Parents can also send a request to admin if they have an idea or wish.

Time Limit

This is a unique feature with which the parent limits the kid’s consumption of videos. The parent puts a timer for a predefined period of time. When the timer goes off, the app stops playing the videos. Videos can only be resumed when the pin is entered.

Subscription

This is one of the social media platforms with a subscription model where the users need to buy a membership to use the Youtube Kids app. The parents can buy a membership for 1 month, 6 months, or 12 months. They can also refer people to redeem awards.

Admin Panel

Dashboard

The dashboard is like the home screen where the admin can see all the parameters that need to be managed. The admin panel shows the parameters like Child Avatar, Parents, Child Detail, Playlists, Videos, Categories, Language, and Skills.

Child Avatar

There are 12 Avatars from which the parents can select. You can add, edit, delete kid’s avatars as per their choice. You can also add new avatars and assigns a gender so the parents can select the appropriate one at the time of signup.

Parents

The admin panel also manages all the parents. You can see details like parent ID, email address, subscription type and date, child count, last login date, activity status, and date of profile creation. You can also add and delete parents.

Child Detail

The admin panel has a record of child detail to assign appropriate content for them. You have access to information like the avatar, kid’s name, kid’s gender, age, date of birth, parent ID and email address, languages, and profile creation date.

Playlists

You can also manage all the playlists on the app. The admin panel has access to assign an emoji gif, name, sequence, language, minimum-maximum age, gender to the playlist. You can create, delete, edit, activate, and inactivate them.

Videos

The admin panel has access to information about videos like video editor, title, thumbnail, link, minimum-maximum age, skills, category name, and activity status. You can also add new videos and assign the details to them or delete any video.
