# Fyule Animate: A Stop Motion Animation App
Fyule Animate is a stop-motion animation app that allows students to create engaging animation videos. This app is a part of Fyule Video Lab – an online learning platform that recently raised funding of $1.4 million. Built with Kotlin, PHP, Laravel, MySQL, FFmpeg, and Firebase, this Android app has been downloaded by 10,000+ students. To create videos, students compile a series of images and enhance them with filters, text, music, and stickers for an appealing presentation.

## About Fyule Animate: A Stop Motion Animation App
Fyule Animate is a unique stop-motion animation app that offers an easy-to-use editing interface. Even beginners can learn and make creative animation videos. This app helps students create STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) animation projects by providing access to a library of stickers, images, filters, and music options.
### Client’s Requirement
The client is a successful EdTech startup based in India. This startup raised $1.4 million through Angel funding, supported by senior leaders from Google, Deloitte, Tata 1mg, and Axis Capital. As the client was aware of our expertise in video editing app development, he requested to develop Fyule Animate. The purpose of this app was to help students encourage and create engaging animated videos on the Fyule online learning platform. In addition to developing Fyule Animate, we also created an [online video learning platform](https://www.spaceotechnologies.com/project/online-learning-platform/) called Fyule Video Lab, as well as a [video editing application](https://www.spaceotechnologies.com/project/fyule-video-editing-app/) named Fyule Editor for the client.
## Solution We Developed
As we had already worked with the client, understanding the requirements was easier. We assigned a development team to develop this animation app – an Android developer, an ISQTB-certified Quality Analyst, and a Certified Scrum Master (CSM).
Here is the set of tools and technologies, our Android team used to build Fyule Animate:
- Our Android developers used Kotlin to ensure streamlined development and rapid performance on Android devices.
- For the backend, we used PHP. This server-side scripting language handles the app’s server-side functions and data operations like user authentication, content delivery, and API communications.
- We integrated the Laravel framework into PHP. Laravel’s MVC architecture helped in enhancing the app’s dynamic content and user management.
- To manage data like user profiles, projects, images, stickers, text, and music files, we chose MySQL. Also, we organized the app’s data into a structured JSON file and then managed using Firebase to ensure the storing and retrieving of data.
- We used FFmpeg (a leading multimedia framework), Exoplayer, and AWS S3. This pack of tools enabled video creation, configuration, and storage functionality in this feature-packed Android app.

Finished videos can be exported in high-quality resolution, whether for academic presentations or sharing purposes, so users can ensure their work is seen in the best quality.
### Photo Trimming
Crop and adjust images within the app, enabling them to refine compositions and focus on specific elements in their animations.
### Undo/Redo Functionality
Provides options for undoing and redoing, providing users with flexibility and control over their editing actions.
