Harold is an iPhone fanatic who has to compulsively buy every latest ‘iProduct’ as soon as it hits the market. He says, hours of wait or the money spent is just a small price to pay to get his hands on one of the first few new iPhones.
Bet, he is restlessly waiting, holding his breath for iPhone 6 and its exciting new features slated to release on the 9th of this month.
It goes without saying that 9th September, 2014 is touted to be the most awaited day for avid Apple lovers like Harold around the world. The California Tech giant is set to release two new iPhone 6 models. And if rumours are to be believed then the new devices will be running on iOS 8.
Apparently, earlier this year on 2nd June at the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC), Apple dedicated a great deal of time explaining the features of their upcoming operating system (code-named as Okemo). Since then speculations have not stopped doing the rounds of the release of the new OS.
If you look at the recent history of iOS release timings then you will know that iOS has always been announced around the release of new iPhone models In 2011, iPhone 4S was released on October 12, while iOS 5 came out on October 12. Almost the same thing happened for iOS 6 & 7 in 2013 when iPhone 5 and iPhone 5S were rolled out. So, it wouldn’t be unsafe to say that iPhone 6 will run on the new operating system.
According to the rumour mill, iOS 8 Beta 6 edition has been already been rolled out to its carrier partners who would undergo approval on the 5th of September.
The OS is for free to download but it will require new hardware to be compatible. Apple devices like iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, iPhone 5C, iPhone 5S, iPod Touch 5th gen, iPad 2, iPad with retina display, iPad Air, iPad Mini and iPad mini with Retina Display are entitled to receive the update.
What’s so new about iOS 8 and iPhone 6 that people are have been waiting for it so eagerly?
The crux of the entire speech at WWDC revolved around the fact that the new Apple OS will be an extended version of iOS 7 with additional new features. Call it an upgrade of iOS 7, but the new OS will be a confluence of every function of the iPhone as it will centralizing everything.
The new operating system will give users more control over their devices as it is going to be dynamic and highly scalable. And if rumours are to be believed, then iOS 8 design will have varying screen sizes, resolutions and a change in the User Interface.
The consumer will definitely be thrilled at the inclusion of all the cool features, and since the UI and graphics would not see much change, the transition to iOS 8 wouldn’t feel so drastic.
iOS 8 is Apple’s biggest OS release till date. In appearance, it may seem similar to iOS 7 but the fact is that iOS 8 comes with many new features and a stack of new tweaks.
It’s very much possible! All you have to do is spend a couple of dollars; say, anything between $500 to $1000, and you are good to go.
